It didn’t take long for him to see the field earning playing time as a true freshman. The Florida native was named the 2018 Gatorade track athlete of the year and won multiple medals at the 2017 Pan American U20 Championships and 2018 World U20 Championships.Īs a football player, Schwartz was a four-star wide receiver recruit coming out of high school and he opted to sign with Aubrun as a two-sport athlete. It’s no surprise that Schwartz is as fast as he is given that he’s found just as much (if not more) success in track and field as he has on the gridiron. Anthony Schwartz makes a ton of sense for the NY Jetsĭubbed “the fastest man in college football,” Schwartz ran a blazing 4.25 40-yard dash at his pro day which is just 0.03 seconds slower than the NFL Combine record set by John Ross a few years ago. The Jets could look to add speed at wide receiver in the middle rounds of the draft and few players (if any) are faster than Schwartz. He stated that he’s met with the Jets, and a few other teams, “more than once.” Schwartz recently spoke on uSTADIUM’s podcast about the teams that he’s met with the most and the first team he mentioned was the Jets. That’s especially true given how much work they’ve done on him. Schwartz is considered to be a late Day 2/early Day 3 prospect in this year’s draft and could be a target of the Jets. And one player they seem to be very interested in is Auburn wide receiver Anthony Schwartz. The NY Jets have undoubtedly been doing their homework on a number of 2021 NFL Draft prospects over the last few weeks.
